Emma Fish Joins the ATIA Board: A New Chapter in Assistive Technology

WOBURN, MA,  February 7th, 2024 – In a significant move for the assistive technology world, Emma Fish, Texthelp's Vice President of Commercial Management, was recently appointed to the Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA) Board of Directors.

The Assistive Technology Industry Association is the global leader in assistive technology (AT) education and research. It is the premier organization for manufacturers, sellers and providers of assistive technology (AT)—products, equipment and systems that enhance learning, working and daily living for persons with disabilities.

Since 1999, ATIA has held the world’s largest conference of its kind to bring together the community and showcase products and services from the assistive technology world, and this year has rounded off the proceedings by announcing Texthelp’s Emma Fish as their latest addition to the prestigious ATIA Board of Directors.

Emma’s career has been focused on making technology and digital learning more accessible in government. In her current role at Texthelp, Emma works on establishing strong partnerships with other organizations in education technology globally and leading sales processes in North America. She brings to the ATIA board her extensive experience from her new role at Texthelp and her previous 12 years at Google for Education and Google Cloud.

Her work at Google involved leading education programs and go-to-market teams supporting the public sector. She also played a key role in the global Education Partner Program at Google for Education, where she first began her work with the Texthelp Group. Emma’s experience and knowledge will be instrumental in helping the ATIA continue to serve as the collective voice of the assistive technology industry to help ensure that the best products and services are delivered to persons with disabilities.

Speaking about the news, Emma commented, "I am deeply honored and excited to join the ATIA Board of Directors. This role is an opportunity to contribute to a field I am passionately committed to. At Texthelp, I've seen firsthand the profound impact that thoughtful and inclusive technology can have in education and in the workplace. My goal is to bring my technology experience, dedication to learning, and energy to ATIA, working with and learning from the ATIA community members to make a difference. Together, I believe we can create a more inclusive world where technology enables everyone to understand and be understood."

Speaking about the appointment, Tara Rudnicki, ATIA Board President and President of Tobii DynaVox said, “The board welcomes Emma joining the leadership for the AT industry. We know that leaders like Emma will serve our industry and association well into the future.”
