Inclusive 365 Road Trip to ISTE 2022

This year, we're making our way to the ISTE Live 22 Edtech Conference with some very special friends of Texthelp: the Inclusive 365 Team!

Join Chris Bugaj, Karen Janowski, Mike Marotta, and Beth Poss on their Inclusive Road Trip to ISTE. We'll be documenting their journey right here or you can follow along in real time with the hashtag #InclusiveRoadToISTE.

Road Trippin'

Starting June 22, Chris, Karen, Mike and Beth will be making their way from Boston, Massachusetts to New Orleans, Louisiana on an Inclusive Road Trip to ISTE 2022.

Throughout their journey, they'll be sharing insights and best practices around inclusivity, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), student agency, EdTech, and more. Plus, they'll be having a lot of fun!

Let's meet the Inclusive 365 Team

Chris Bugaj, Karen Janowski, Mike Marotta, and Beth Poss are not just road trippers. They are also authors of 'Inclusive Learning 365: Edtech Strategies for Every Day of the Year."

Designed to be read one day - and page - at a time, this book offers 365 strategies for implementing technology to design inclusive experiences. Each daily strategy is accompanied by examples of tools that can be implemented immediately to design meaningful instruction.

Chris Bugaj

Chris, MA CCC-SLP is a founding member of the Assistive Technology Team for Loudoun Count Public Schools. He is an Educational Experience Designer, an Inclusive Design Coach, Speech and Language Pathologist, Author and Presenter.

Karen Janowski

Karen is an Assistive & Inclusive Technology Consultant and former Adjunct Professor at Simmons College in Boston, MA. She is the President and owner of EdTech Solutions, Inc, which provides AT and AAC professional development, coaching, consultations and assessments.

Mike Marotta

Mike is a RESNA Certified Assistive Technology Professional and Inclusive Technology Evangelist. He runs his own consulting company, Inclusive Technology Solutions LLC, where he provides services related to providing inclusive tech solutions for all learners.

Beth Poss

Beth is a Speech-Language Pathologist and is currently the Director of Educational Programs for LessonPix. She presents nationally on best practices in Early Childhood, Special Education, Assistive Technology, Instructional Technology, and UDL.

W.I.S.H. Instructions

The Inclusive 365 Team has put together a Google Sheet with a variety of action items for participants to complete. Each action item has a point value associated with it.

Once you complete an action item, think about how that item can help create a culture of inclusivity. Demonstrate how you completed the item by sharing an artifact using the Google Form.

Prizes will be given out to both those with the highest number of points as well as general participants. Good luck!

Kicking off at ISTE 2022, Mathspace Meetup is a regular gathering of educators who are interested in learning best practices around using Equatio Mathspace in K-12 mathematics classrooms. AT Town Hall

The Inclusive 365 Team hosted an AT Town Hall on Monday, June 13. They previewed the Inclusive Road Trip to ISTE and introduced the W.IS.H. (Wonderfully Inclusive Scavenger Hunt). Watch the recording to learn more!

The first stop on the Road Trip was at the Natural Bridge in Natural Bridge, Virginia. This National Historic Landmark was a monumental spot to start a monumental Road Trip.

Bristol Motor Speedway

The Inclusive 365 Team stopped at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee to put math concepts into practice using Equatio.

Unclaimed Baggage Center

Friday, June 24

In Alabama, the Team stopped at that nation's ONLY retailer of lost luggage items at the Unclaimed Baggage Center. It was closed by the time they got there, but they were still all smiles.

Noccalula Falls Park

Saturday, June 25

On Saturday morning, the team FELL for Texthelp tools at Noccalula Falls Park. They also highlighted how you can use those tools to integrate multiple means of action and expression into your lesson plans.

Abita Mystery House

Don't get scared by the next stop on the Road Trip. The team visited the Abita Mystery House near New Orleans, Louisiana to discuss breaking down barriers.

Mardi Gras World

The last stop on the Road Trip (before ISTE, that is) was Mardi Gras World! While there, the Inclusive 365 Team explored an authentic makerspace.
