Solutions for Inclusive Education

Welcoming and supporting every student in our classrooms

What does inclusion in education look like?

In its most simple form, inclusive education means accepting, understanding and catering for students’ differences and diversity whether that’s physical, cognitive, academic, social, or emotional. The goal of inclusive education is that students spending time outside the regular classroom environment is an exception rather than the norm.

In well established inclusive education environments, students feel welcomed and comfortable in our classrooms and are supported throughout their education.

The role of technology in inclusive education

Everyone thinks and learns differently. That’s at the very heart of inclusive education. When we know where each student’s strengths lie, and how they like to learn best, we can start to provide tools, and technology to support their style of learning.

Texthelp tools are designed to support every learner in your classroom. Each tool has a range of supports to complement learning in the classroom and at home. Helping you to create an inclusive learning environment.

Supporting SEN students

Students in special education groups often form a significant part of our varied and diverse classrooms. It’s important that we provide each student with special educational needs with the tools they need to access the curriculum every day. Helping them to learn, engage with resources and their peers, and demonstrate their mastery in a topic area.

Read&Write

Read&Write is particularly useful for supporting students with special educational needs. Specific accessibility tools alongside the reading and writing tools, help to create a level playing field for everyone.

Equatio

Equatio gives SEN students many ways to engage and show their understanding in maths. They can choose to type, handwrite or dictate their maths problems and answers, as well as hearing maths read aloud when coupled with Read&Write.

Orbitnote

SEN students can use OrbitNote to make inaccessible PDFs and documents readable and editable.

Engaging every learning style

Every student learns and understands information in a different way. That’s what makes our classrooms so brilliant and diverse. Since a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work in today’s varied classroom environment, it’s important to provide instruction, lessons and additional resources in multiple formats.

Our tools can help provide options for students in how they engage with content and demonstrate their understanding.

Read&Write

Read&Write provides students with access to a suite of over twenty different reading support tools, where and when they need it. Giving them choice in how they access and engage with content and helping to improve their reading and comprehension skills.

Equatio

Equatio improves learning experiences in maths and science by giving students choice in the tools that they need to succeed. This includes having maths read aloud, using “maths-to-speech” and visualising maths and science concepts digitally.

OrbitNote

OrbitNote allows students to express their understanding in many flexible ways. They can type or draw their thoughts on the page, which can aid planning. Both teachers and students can use their voices to send thoughts and feedback, and finally students can add shapes and images to their work.

Making maths classrooms inclusive and engaging

To make maths lessons inclusive, we need to anticipate barriers that may prevent students from participating in learning. This means considering the accessibility of our lessons and activities, and working to minimise those barriers so all students can fully participate. We want all of our learners to develop independent learning techniques.

Equatio

From learners in Special Education to EAL students, Equatio’s accessibility features help students to be more independent in STEM subjects. Equatio lets students visualise, digitise and understand maths, helping them to work independently and in ways that best suit their needs.

What our customers say

Read&Write is building inclusive classrooms! Every child in our organization has access to Read&Write. It enables every child, including those who have SEND or additional needs, to access learning in an on-demand, when-they-need-it mindset. This could help with complex vocabulary or have a set of texts read aloud to them.

"Every math teacher and advanced science teacher can use Equatio to make their work math-friendly. It's a great way to streamline teacher work. This intuitive tool offers multiple input methods (including speech-to-text) for accessibility, while streamlining workflows and saving teachers valuable time. By making complex math concepts clear and engaging, Equatio empowers educators to create a more inclusive and dynamic learning environment for all students."
