Meet the Speakers
Marvin Williams is the Director of Disability Resource Services at the California State University, Stanislaus. His department is responsible for ensuring students have equal access to academic and student life on campus.
Marvin also serves as co-chair of the CSU Statewide Services to Students with Disabilities Director’s Council and serves on the CSU Statewide Advisory Board for Services to Students with Disabilities. Previously, Marvin was the Assistive Technology Coordinator at Fresno State and an Assistive Technology Coordinator for the Delaware Assistive Technology Initiative with the University of Delaware’s Center for Disabilities Studies.
He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University and an MS in Biomedical Engineering from Iowa State University. He’s currently working on an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership and has over 25 years of experience working in the disabilities community.
Ptahra Jeppe is a proud dyslexic and dedicated Disability Civil Rights Attorney in New York City. She received her J.D. magna cum laude with a curricular focus in Disability Law & Policy and an M.S. Ed. in Disability Studies from Syracuse University College of Law. Ms. Jeppe also received her B.A. magna cum laude with departmental honors from Adelphi University.
Ms. Jeppe has guest lectured at numerous colleges and universities, organizations, companies, and parent groups. Ms. Jeppe often focuses on learning disabilities, assistive technology, and her experience as an attorney who has navigated the education system.
As a Disability Civil Rights Attorney, Ms. Jeppe has a unique awareness and empathy for her client's situations. As a result, she is committed to advocating for meaningful access and opportunities for all.
