Enhancing accessibility and inclusion with Read&Write: New updates for Windows and iOS
At Texthelp, we continually strive to make learning and work environments more accessible and inclusive for everyone. With that in mind, we’re thrilled to announce two significant updates to our Read&Write product that are designed to empower educators, HR leaders, and DEI professionals.
Empowering users with Voice Access speech recognition
One of the most exciting updates is the integration of Voice Access as the new offline Talk&Type option for Read&Write on Windows. Voice Access is a powerful dictation tool that works seamlessly offline, requiring no voice training. This functionality is crucial in environments where internet access is restricted, such as during exams or in secure workplaces.
By integrating Voice Access, Read&Write continues to evolve as a versatile tool that meets the diverse needs of your students and employees, enabling them to succeed with confidence. Voice Access is available for anyone using Windows 11 22H2 and later.

Expanding accessibility with the New Scan feature on iOS
We are also introducing a new Scan feature for Read&Write on iOS, making it easier than ever to access text from a variety of sources. This feature allows users to take a photo or select an existing image or file, such as a PDF or word docs, and then convert it into accessible text using OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
The scanned text can be imported into the Read&Write writing app for reading and editing, providing users with more control over their learning and work materials. This enhancement supports the diverse needs of classrooms and workplaces, making Read&Write on iOS an even more powerful tool for promoting success and inclusion. These updates to Read&Write reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting diverse learners and employees all over the world. By providing tools that are flexible, user-friendly, and inclusive, we help create environments where everyone can thrive.
