Education for Everyone: Texthelp's Highlights from Bett 2024
From 24-26 January, 30,000 of the global education community gathered together, including education changemakers and innovative EdTech providers, game-changing governments and charities, over 2000 children and 300 world-class speakers.
Our Texthelpers joined the movement in helping to create more inclusive classrooms across the globe, where everyone can understand and be understood.
Texthelp’s presence at Bett 2024
Our stand was positioned at the heart of the bustling EdTech conversations in row SJ60.
Over the three days, we featured lots of cutting-edge ed-tech content on our stage daily, underscoring our commitment to making education accessible for everyone through digital tools for inclusive learning. Our sessions included insightful presentations on:
- The power of UDL
- Supporting dyslexia
- Inclusive technology
- Exams on Chromebooks
- Making exams accessible
- Creating digital accessibility
Key Speakers and Collaborations
Not only did we have our Texthelpers on the ground at the London ExCel, flying the flag for inclusive education, but we were also joined by some of the most influential people in the ed-tech community.
On Wednesday, Marcia Brissett-Bailey, co-author of ‘Black, Brilliant, and Dyslexic’, took to the Texthelp stage to share her own journey with dyslexia, encouraging educators to empower dyslexic and neurodivergent students to find their voice.
On Thursday, Dr. Fiona Aubrey-Smith, co-author of the bestselling book 'From EdTech to PedTech: Changing the way we think about digital technology,' joined us at Stand SJ60 to discuss all things PedTech, a key topic at Bett 2024.
Closing up three days of inspiring sessions with Texthelp was Dan Fitzpatrick, otherwise known as the AI Educator. Dan shared invaluable insights and tactics for harnessing AI in education. Attendees at each of the keynote sessions also had the opportunity to receive a free signed copy of the author's book – a big hit!
In addition to our keynote speakers, the Texthelp team received tremendous support from an outstanding lineup of influencers, including Bukky Yusuf, Abid Patel, Baasit Siddiqui, Ben Whitaker, and Jessica Marsh. Each collaborator played a vital role by sharing our message of inclusive learning in education through their social channels and visiting our stand.
Award Recognition
We were honored to be shortlisted for ‘Collaboration with a School’ at the 2024 Awards for our partnership with Midlothian Council.
Our entry showcased how Read&Write, our literacy toolbar, has supported 32 primary schools, six secondary schools, and one special school as part of Midlothian’s ‘Equipped for Learning’ project.
Panel Discussions
Over the three days, our agenda was jam-packed with engaging panel discussions featuring experts from across the industry and around the world.
Susan Ward and Mark Davidson from Midlothian Council shared insights into the digital transformation across their authority, helping to make learning accessible for all. Staff from LEO Academy Trust, along with the star of the show, Year 6 pupil Ella, offered their perspectives on inclusion.
Our global panellists delved into overcoming challenges in promoting inclusion and shared insights into how innovative technologies empower them to support all learners.
Cutting-edge Ed-Tech Demos
Our team of Texthelpers, experts in inclusive learning, were readily available to assist and demonstrate our digital tools at our fabulous demo area on the stand. Visitors and session attendees had the opportunity to experience firsthand and learn how our tools build confidence in reading, writing, maths, and exams.
